Things to Consider When Traveling Internationally

We have traveled internationally a few times and we have realized the importance of keeping up with what is going on in the world before traveling out of the United States. The world is a beautiful place, but it can be a little less beautiful if you travel internationally and don’t know the custom rules, the visa/passport rules, or how safe your destination is.

After COVID, many countries changed their rules so that your passport needs to be valid for a certain time period. One of these restrictions is the Schengen Area in Europe. To travel to one of these countries, your passport needs to be valid for 6 months after your travel.

Countries change their travel restrictions so one website to visit before planning to travel out of the United States is the US Department of State website. Here you can find information about which countries are the safest to visit, and what restrictions there might be on traveling.

Are you planning on traveling with medicine? Check ahead of time to see if your medicine is considered a narcotic in other countries. In some countries it is a felony to travel with medicine that we use every day in the United States. Some countries ask you to declare your medication when you arrive at the customs counter. Our travel guide can help you make the decisions you need in order to travel with medicine.
